Fields are getting ready: start of Traditionnal shallot planting in Brittany

The first signs of spring are approaching, and in our Breton fields, a new season is already starting. This is the key moment of the year: preparing the fields for Traditional shallot planting.

Even before the first bulbs are planted in the ground, meticulous work begins. Our plots are carefully cultivated to obtain light, aerated and perfectly structured soil. Each step is essential to ensure optimal rooting and harmonious growth.

The Traditional shallot, emblem of our Breton terroir, is demanding. It requires well-drained, rich but balanced soils. The soil preparation is therefore crucial: it determines the quality, preservation and, of course, the unique flavour of our future crops.

This preparation time is also a time for observation. We analyze soil moisture, keep an eye on weather conditions and adapt our actions to better respect natural cycles.

Our purpose remains unchanged: producing authentic shallots, cultivated with patience and know-how.

In the coming weeks, the first shoots will show up. We will be happy to keep you updated on each stage of this new crop.

The 2026 season is underway, and it is looking promising !
